Religious School

Congregation Beth Yam's religious school offers classes ranging from Pre-K thru Confirmation. Our school has a project-based curriculum that allows students maximum participation in each class. Hebrew, history and culture, comparative Judaism, as well as current world-wide events related to Judaism are core subjects. Our school projects have featured a trip to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. and also include participation in many Jewish and non-Jewish community events in the greater Hilton Head Island area. Our school has state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment; and we have a computer giving students access to many Jewish data bases and world-wide e-mail pen pals.

Religious School meets on Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Hilton Head Island (located on Gumtree Road). It includes one hour of Hebrew, one hour of Judaic Studies, and one-half hour of music. There are approximately 32 sessions of each type of class during the 2003-2004 school year.

Please check our calendar for specific schedule information like school closings due to holidays and special religious school events.

Membership in the Parent Teachers' Association (PTA) is a way for you to support our young members. It is open to all congregation members. To find out more about the PTA, click here.
