Parent Teachers' Association

Congregation Beth Yam’s Parent Teachers’ Association (PTA) is our Congregation’s newest arm. Membership is open to all members of our Congregation, even if they have no children in our Religious School. The purpose of our organization is to open and maintain communication between our educator (principal), teachers, parents and students.

It is the hope of the PTA that our members will support the religious school both morally, financially and physically by volunteering to assist in our various programs. We want our children to love Judaism. By attending our Family Services, held once a month, and regularly attending Hebrew School classes, our children will not only learn the history of our people and Hebrew, but also learn to appreciate being a Jew.

Our PTA will work with our Rabbi and teachers in planning and hosting all of the holiday celebrations for the religious school. PTA will also sponsor some fund raising activities in order to help our religious school teachers purchase needed items not covered by our Temple’s budget.

We plan on having a meeting at least once a month where everyone can have the opportunity to share their thoughts and where questions concerning our children’s’ religious education can be answered. Please join with us at these meetings, we want to hear from you.
